The Agribusiness Council of Indiana is the proactive voice of businesses serving Indiana agriculture. It was formed by a combination of mergers of agribusiness associations that handle grain, feed, seed, plant food and agricultural chemicals for farmers in order to better represent this important industry in the 21st Century. ACI has members based in every county of the state, employing Hoosiers throughout rural Indiana, and creating a significant economic impact.

State Government Relations

Instructed Agricultural Law and the Environment, a two-hour course that examines the intersection of agricultural policies and environmental law

- Addressed legal and regulatory challenges impeding the growth of agriculture and agribusinesses- Implemented policy objectives of ISDA prior to and during the legislative session (i.e., drafting proposed statutory changes, providing information to legislators, attending session proceedings and lobbying on behalf of the department)- Participated in the administrative rulemaking process relating to agriculture (i.e., CFO/CAFO Rule, Antidegradation Rule, Fertilizer Use Rule, GIPSA Livestock Competition Rule, NPDES CAFO Reporting Rule and Sales Tax Exemption Rule) by conducting research, managing work groups and drafting comments on proposed regulations- Assisted local and state elected officials, land use officials, planners and decision makers with local regulatory issues related to livestock, agricultural and natural resource regulation- Served as Executive Director of the Indiana Land Resource Council, a group appointed by the governor to assist state and local decision makers with land use tools and policies- Coordinated projects with the Indiana Department of Homeland Security (IDHS), including serving in the Emergency Operations Center, maintaining the department Continuity of Operations Plan and reviewing IDHS response/recovery plans - Led the strategic planning workgroup of the Indiana Invasive Species Council- Represented ISDA on the Indiana Agriculture Risk Committee
