As an intern at MP&F, I was apart of 10 client teams ranging from large corporations to nonprofit, pro-bono clients. Within the client teams, I worked on many different aspects of communications including: press releases, social media content calendars, digital graphic communications (posters, images, posts, etc.) and op-eds. I worked with Cision, as well as other computer-based programs, to contact different members of the press for clients. Throughout the internships, I was also able to attended many professional development workshops.
Resident Assistant
As a Resident Assistant (RA) , I work and live in an all female dorm. In Wright Hall, I create community building programs and other programs in the hall. A few examples include, Diversity Walks, Coffee and Conversation "get to know you" events, and many more. I was required to work a certain amount of hours in the residence hall, including duty shifts and front desk shifts. I was also in charge of all social media and public relations for the hall, including creating a Facebook and Instagram page, event posters, public relations, etc. I also worked with RAs in Maddox Hall, an all male dorm connected to Wright, for many different programs. A few examples include, Small Talk and Tacos event and a Brick Painting event.Main skills developed in the position: interpersonal communication, QPR training, Title XI training, event planning/management, social media, graphic design, time management, and professional organization skills.
Spiritual Life Assistant (Sla)
As an SLA, I work in one of the dorms at Belmont to help students find a home at Belmont. In the hall, I work the front desk about 15 hours a week, create programs to engage the residents, help connect students to churches and clubs around campus, and meet with residents whenever needed. I attend weekly meetings with the entire group of SLAs, my specific group of SLAs for the hall, and with the RAs and the RD for the hall.

I also worked with the City Government, the City Commission, and the Chamber of Commerce throughout the summer.

Wedding And Event Planning Intern
In this internship, I worked mainly with one of the four staffed planners, MaryAnna. We worked together on creating Pinterest boards to present ideas to clients. MaryAnna and I met with clients to discuss their visions, and we also attended open houses to network with other people in our field (ex. caters and florists). I was on-site and the right-hand girl for four weddings and rehearsals, gaining a lot of knowledge on how to successfully run a wedding. This included creating flower centerpieces, cutting confetti, and acting as a mediator.
Student Coordinator
The SJ5k is a 5k run that raises money for families in our community who have gone through a medical crisis and need financial/community support. As a student coordinator, I oversaw over 50 students and adults working on the race. We raised over $63,000, with $10,000 coming from sponsors. We had an attendance of about 2,300 people, and were able to disperse a bit over $60,000 (after expenses) for the five families nominated. Currently, I am one of eight board members. I am in charge of leadership growth for the student coordinator, as well as past family communication.
