Amy Dunlap attended Animal Behavior College in 2014, where she earned her certification for Professional Dog Training. Since graduating, Amy has worked with numerous rescues to help train the long term dogs with "problem behaviors." Amy also worked in clients' homes, creating training plans catered to each individual dog she worked with. Amy takes pride in using only science-based, reward-based training techniques that grow confidence and improve the bond between people and their canine companions, as well as improving the understanding our dogs have of what we desire. Amy began working with Wild Goose Chase and Migratory Bird Management as the company Dog Trainer in October of 2015. Her role in the company includes making training plans for each dog individually and ensuring each handler is maintaining and executing the training plans to the best of their ability. Amy goes out on all routes with the handlers to evaluate the pair's working abilities. Along with training dogs, she manages a team of kennel staff for our Canine Inspection and Detection Services and Wild Goose Chase kennels, who help maintain the kennels and training, as well as providing enrichment games for the dogs, trick training for the dogs, treadmill training, and soon will be implementing the Canine Fit To Work program for the dogs. Amy was born in Hammond, IN and raised in Highland, IN, where she met her high school sweetheart and husband of 10 years. Outside of work, Amy enjoys raising her 2 (soon to be 3) children, and spending time with her dogs, Liberty, a 5 year old Golden Retriever, and Kane, a 3 year old German Shepherd. Amy's family are loyal and proud fans of the Chicago Blackhawks, and they have a distinct love for theater. Amy has previously been involved in the Valparaiso Symphony Chorus, and the North West Indiana Symphony Chorus, as a 1st soprano. Her favorite musicals include "Singin' in the Rain," "Wicked," and "Phantom of the Opera," among many others.
