Having started as a fast track clinical physiology student on the Wirral nearly 20 years ago, I am now the physiology lead for cath Lab and EP at Wythenshawe Hospital. Specialising in cardiac rhythm management undertaking electrophysiology studies, complex 3D mapping and cryoablation procedures. My role also entails the management of patients with complex cardiac devices. I implant and explant Implantable Loop Recorders having set up and developed this as a Physiologist Led Service. I have an active role in the teaching and education of students on both STP and PTP programmes at Manchester Metropolitan University as well as developing and educating our qualified Physiologists and Healthcare Scientists in house. Currently I am a Physiologist Representative on the British Heart Rhythm Society council.
