Building relationships has been the cornerstone of my career. The ability to connect with and understand the perspective of diverse business partners, colleagues, clients and junior staff has been key to my success in building teams and driving growth -- from my first post-MBA job managing brands for a Fortune 200 company to planning and executing sales strategies for a top health care strategy company.I am skilled at developing communications that speak to my audience. At General Mills, I developed advertising and promotional campaigns to reach consumers. At the Advisory Board, my audience was health care executives and sales staff. At Stanford’s Business School, I marketed programs to companies that supported the university. Developing and mentoring team members has been a natural outgrowth of my focus on relationships. At the Advisory Board, I coached new salespeople to manage client interactions effectively and deliver compelling product pitches. Whether with colleagues or with students I am interviewing for my alma mater, Duke University, my interest in supporting other people is always front and center.
