Project management and development to improve comfort for people and deliver sustainable solutions to historic building conservation, working towards net-zero.

- Assisting the course leader in delivering a module about Arts Management on the MA Arts & Cultural Management course, I led several lectures and seminars on topics such as strategic planning in the cultural sector, planning tools (e.g. SWOT, SMART objectives), fundraising (strategic planning and application processes) and volunteer management.- Working alongside ~15 students to develop their group projects, I provided guidance as a cohort, within each group and to individuals; additional signposting to library and other support services. Provided informal feedback during group presentations.- Communicate with students via Zoom, Teams, Outlook and Blackboard for which I developed additional course content such as reading lists and presentations.- Completed 4-session course on Teaching Skills for Doctoral Students which introduced key areas of teaching planning and delivery such as session planning, situational analysis, active learning strategies and examples, how to manage challenging situations, and reflexive approaches to teaching as student centred learning not merely content delivery; applied learning to a new session I developed from my experiences as a volunteer manager.- Supervising 8 student dissertations on MA Public Relations and MA Arts & Cultural Management (May - August 2023) using qualitative approaches, social media based research, community participation.

Arts and Humanities Research Council doctoral researcher in critical heritage, thesis titled: ‘Bus Enthusiasm as Heritage Practice’. Funded through the Heritage Consortium, Hull University. Supervisors Dr Kathy Doherty (social psychology) and Dr Becky Shaw (artist). Viva passed on 28th April 2023, Amendments submitted 5th September 2023.- Developed my individual project from planning through to implementation and the production of an 80,000-word thesis.- Programme of study included the engagement with relevant stakeholders and participants in transport museums and bus enthusiast societies; I worked with 17 individuals visiting the London Transport Museum, riding a heritage bus route and in qualitative interviews in their homes.- The project explored ‘critical’ definitions of heritage practice; my theoretical disposition is inspired by Affect, New Materialism and the ‘more-than-representational’. Methodological techniques include reflective thematic analysis, collage-making (as both analytical tool and interpretative device) and ethnographic description.- Documented the project via a WordPress blog (https://onlondonsbuses.home.blog/); presented at internal and external conferences (Hull, Kingston) in paper and poster format; engaged non-academic audiences e.g. PubhD.

Paid commission to produce new content for the Sheffield General Cemetery Trust's website; communicating the architectural, design and heritage significance of the site. I devised a potential structure for publication online and worked with stakeholders both at the Trust and Sheffield City Council.

6-week placement completed with the Research Team as part of my PG Certificate in Heritage Research, investigating the potential application of a Theory of Change model for research activity across different levels of the Trust.- Produced context review and a report based on stakeholder interviews and a focus group with property staff; participated in meetings with senior colleagues in the Research Group including presenting my findings verbally.- Gained knowledge of participatory and collaborative approaches to knowledge generation and further insight into the role and function of Independent Research Organisations, priorities of Research Councils and pathways to research impact

Developed education resources related to this community oral history project for use by local Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 pupils and their teachers.

The Kingston History Centre (formerly Local History Room) is a reference library where members of the public, local historians and other researchers access material from the Royal Borough of Kingston's official Archive and also Local History materials such as the Surrey Comet newspaper archive (1854-present), street directories, OS series maps and local history publications. - Provided front of house research service to user, developing guides and resources to aid with local history research- Managed a team of 12 volunteers, developing service wide policies and procedures, new role profiles to deliver worthwhile volunteer experiences for both the individual and the Service- Managed collections including: 5000 title library, vast ephemera collections, newspaper archives, 12000 photographs, artworks, posters and playbills.- Worked with the community on outreach projects including: Kingston Beer Festival, Kingston Hospital Dementia Alliance and others; aided in research and development for exhibitions at Kingston Museum and at 7 borough libraries.- Strategic planning and implementation of a move of the collection and Service to a new site in the centre of Kingston.

Working between the Museum and Archive to increase access to the collections by a variety of means. I developed the Service's social media presence, began work to improve access for visually impaired visitors and worked to improve the all round experience of both sites by developing visitor guides and educational provision aimed at adults.

I worked closely with the Visitor Services Officer and Learning and Engagement Officer to assist with and further develop their activities: - Developed and implemented a Visitor guide and map to the Museum- Worked on a 'Large Font' guide for people with visual impairment for all permanent display, began to develop a project around audio-description.- Promoted closer working with the Friends organisation to improve membership recruitment through design of publicity material and events planning- Developed and maintain the Service's Facebook presence

- Part of a 3-person team delivering exhibitions to a public audience of contemporary and 20th century fine art by local, national and international artists, from the University’s collections and from touring exhibitions- Exhibitions work included practical activities such as preparing walls, unpacking and hanging artworks, condition reports, packing artworks for transit; managing exhibition information using Excel and Access to generate wall labels and other interpretation materials (such as price lists, catalogues, leaflets)- Customer facing on a day-to-day basis included recording visitor statistics, processing shop sales and bookings, delivering opening nights, study days and a children’s art club.
