Proposal development, grant writing, and grant reporting.

Education Director: Responsible for overall management of the education department in a marine research and rehabilitation facility. Managed a team responsible for design, development and implementation of educational programs and exhibits for school groups and the general public. Worked with administrators, scientists, and animal husbandry personnel to gather information and create multimedia, research-based educational products, school programs, and visitor presentations. Wrote grant proposals to fund new initiatives and exhibits. Helped develop and manage educational outreach partnerships with the Anchorage School District, the National Park Service, the North Pacific Research Board, and Coastal America. Development Associate: Submitted successful funding proposals to foundations, corporations, government agencies, and individual donors. Led efforts to raise approximately $250,000 per year for in private donations for Center-wide operations and projects. Wrote and edited media releases, newsletter articles, brochures, appeal letters, annual reports and other publications used in outreach and communications. Planned special events and major fundraisers. Managed the membership program and helped create new programs to engage current and potential supporters. Served as contact for press inquiries, donor relations, and VIP tours.
