Worked as a Nurse Apprentice/Certified Nursing Assistant on the Clinical Support Team at St. Alphonsus which requires me to float to multiple floors/units throughout the clinic on a regular basis. UROC serves as a resource for student groups and an agent for cohesiveness between all Registered Organizations and Clubs of the College of Western Idaho. I Started Taking Karate at Alpha UPKUDO a karate school that strives to not only provide its students a way to get fit and obtain knowledge of different fighting techniques, but also to drill into those attending qualities that can be used in all areas of their lives. A strong work ethic and commitment to assigned responsibilities. Perseverience despite external pressure and internal pain. A healthy respect for others along with team work and loyalty. Having a mindset that is always ready to learn. These characteristics I learned from my dojo and dojo familiy alike during my 8 years there and through times of strife and times of plenty that will continue to be with me. As a black-belt, my duties consisted of assisting UPKUDO Senseis (or official martial arts instructors) with their classes, assisted in self-defense classes offered to the local community in Havana, and representing the school in official martial arts demonstrations in the community and at martial arts tournaments in Florida and Georgia.
