I am a hard working, dedicated and loyal professional with over 20 years of experience. I have been dedicated to working toward equity and compassion in every job since I started working at 15 at a summer camp with a focus on a true inclusion model for kids with neurodiverse and physically diverse needs and abilities. With a strong educational foundation from the UofA in special education and rehabilitation I then pursued a masters in social work, choosing to work full time in foster care licensing and placement while I completed my degree. Moved and motivated by the children with severe trauma histories I worked with, I then transitioned to the behavioral health field specializing in working with kids and families working through attachment challenges as well as ADHD, mood disorders, educational challenges, past trauma and many other challenges. Inspired by the amazing professionals in the field and concerned with those not providing adequate care, I joined the world of healthcare quality and was promoted quickly to higher positions and larger agencies. Leading in a federally qualified health center I expanded my knowledge of both behavioral health and physical health quality standards and practices, assisting with NCQA accreditation and leading teams of quality professionals, medical assistants, practice managers, front office, transportation, enrollment, eligibility and medical records. I am most proud of how many of them reported great benefit from my leadership and were inspired to join me in future positions. Moving to the health plan next I quickly learned everything I could about HEDIS standards and contributed to abstraction, overreads, training, data presentation and operations of HEDIS seasons and off season performance improvement activities. I pursue ongoing education at every opportunity whether from coworkers, other departments and teams, former professional peers and leaders, conference settings, online learning and whoever I happen to run into. I firmly believe that the more I know the more I can contribute.
