• Responsible for managing, negotiating and scheduling the shipping of circa 2.5 million tonnes p/annum (circa 430 voyages p/annum) of all BHP Billiton’s Ferro Manganese, Copper Cathodes, Aluminium, Petroleum Coke, Aluminium Tri-Fluoride, Liquid Pitch, Cathodes and Anodes. • As part of a team handle the chartering, commercial and financial management of both short and long term chartered vessels.• Responsible for the negotiation, scheduling and commercial management of BHP Billiton’s 2 Liquid Pitch tankers.• Negotiating the services and rates of local stevedoring in Rotterdam.• Project co-ordinator between Mozambique and BHP Billiton Aluminium marketing unit in their review of the landside logistics management. • Identified and delivered costs savings following improved handling and stowage of Aluminium Ingots on conventional bulk carrier vessels. • Active participant of a cross marketing manganese/freight project that lead to a changed supply chain which has seen cost/freight reductions and improved productivity.• Problem solving daily operational logistic queries related to both landside logistics and shipping.• Management of external logistic/shipping providers in order to maintain and strengthen existing relationships.• Ensure a high level of customer service and support for both internal and external customers.• Cost management, maintenance and reporting of freight forecasting (5 year and long term protocol rates).

• Co-ordinated and scheduled the shipment of BHP Billiton’s parcel shipments of ferro manganese, manganese ore, ferro chrome and chrome ore ex South Africa. Responsible for approx 1.5 million tonnes.• Responsible for the management, co-ordination and ultimate transfer of BHP Billiton Aluminium shipping into BHP Billiton freight division.

• Post fixture voyage management (laytimes and freight invoices, etc).• Operating a combination of Time charter and Voyage charter vessels. • Legal dispute resolution (voyage claims).• Seacargo / MS Access database, internal freight voyage management system.

6 Month Contract• Co-ordinating and planning the transportation and the routes for vehicles to their final destination in Europe.• Tracking and updating customer/suppliers on manufacturer production dates.• Communicating daily with the Pre Delivery Inspection centre to ensure that vehicles match customer requirements.• Handling sales and customer enquiries from all over Europe.• Problem solving operational issues both Logistic and Sales related.
