From a young age I have had a strong desire to entertain and a love for performance. My creative ability has led me to a career as a singer, composer, actor-musician and comedian. The beginnings...My desire to communicate was honed from the age of 5 when my family moved to Kobe, Japan. I went to a local school and had to learn Japanese fast. Having to navigate the complexities of being in a new country at a young age strengthened my confidence and I fell into the role of 'class clown'.Singing...A career in opera seemed to be my ticket to become a performer and during my undergraduate degree in opera at RNCM, I fell in love with the drama of opera. But as I began to understand the industry I realised there was more space for my creative voice elsewhere. After venturing in to pop and jazz singing, in 2019 I formalised my knowledge by doing a Masters at RNCM in Pop. By improving my musicianship, theory and production skills, I now work as a songwriter/composer. Comedy...Being freelance means I have to create my own work and opportunities and as part of that I decided to combine my love for music and making people laugh and start comedy. Described as “joyful” (Telegraph) I started in 2019 and now I'm an award winning musical comedian. Equipped with Ableton and my mini keyboard, I've performed extensively across the UK circuit as well as festivals and a live performance on BBC Radio 4. My debut solo show "no previous experience" had a sold out run at my first Edinburgh festival in 2023.Awards include: WINNER ‘Best Stand Up Comedy’ at Manchester Fringe (2023)WINNER ‘Audience Choice Award’ at the Musical Comedy Awards (2020)Featured on the Telegraph's '35 of the funniest shows at the Fringe' (2023)“Playful & charismatic… Webber’s knack for crowd work cannot be ignored” Chortle“Energetic and quick witted… laugh-a-minute” North West End“Amy really has an amazing ability to engage an audience” Voice MagI have an original music project under the name 'Eimie' where I release my own songs - you can hear them on Spotify and Youtube.Teaching...With a natural talent and love for teaching, this also makes up part of my freelance work. I started teaching in 2014 and I've worked with primary, secondary and adult learners as well as leading teacher training and running workshops in singing, drama and presentation. I also teach songwriting and 1-2-1 singing lessons from beginner levels to HE. In conclusion...Although I am unique in my background and my training, I think my most memorable asset has to be always being un-ashamedly myself.
