Of those, Beckman provided government-based employment services for two years, three years direct social service counseling in the non-profit sector, and more than 12 years in the private sector as a Human Resources professional. Of those years in HR, Beckman developed relationships with local manufacturing companies during her two years at a staffing agency providing recruitment and client account development/management, and delivered recruitment and performance management practices in the oil and gas industry for over 10 years. Beckman currently leads the Career & Experiential Learning department for McPherson College developing employer relationships, building opportunities for student career development and coaching students about career management techniques.Ms. Beckman's involvement in workforce developed has involved being connected with the Local Area I WorkforceONE/KansasWorks board whose vision is to serve the community through workforce initiatives. Additionally, she has previously service as an industry representative on the Advisory Committee for the Hutchinson Community College McPherson outreach site, and on the Central Kansas SHRM board in various roles as Workforce Readiness Chairperson, President, VP, and Secretary/Treasurer, and member-at-large. Beckman currently serves on the McPherson Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and the McPherson Leadership Committee.Beckman started her career preparing single-parents in the welfare-to-work program with work and life skills to better support their family and become contributors to the workforce and society. She then worked at a local agency staffing many of the area’s manufacturing facilities, performed recruiting and performance management and developed and led an internship program for CHS, and currently leads the Career & Experiential Learning department for McPherson College. A nearby-McPherson native, Beckman earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Kansas State University, and her Master’s in Counseling Psychology from City University in Seattle. Beckman enjoys working as a leader in the community to further develop the skills of our future workforce, and being an active part of our community's future.
