Sr. Principal & Architecture Practice Leader
CurrentAmy Beckman is a Principal and Architecture Practice Leader at HOK with over 25 years of experience leading projects in the commercial, healthcare, and governmental market sectors. Amy brings her focus on design and technical excellence together with her abilities as a project manager and applies them on large scale projects at HOK. She is adept at building strong relationships with clients, communicating with a variety of stakeholders, and leading large scale project team collaborations. She recently completed a $1B multiphase new construction project in NYC for NewYork-Presbyterian. The David H. Koch Center encompasses an ambulatory care center, an integrative health and wellness center, and women and newborns hospital and represents the third project for this client over a multi-year relationship. Her built projects also include a new building for the Permanent Mission of Singapore to the United Nations on the east side of Manhattan and a repositioning of an office building in Washington DC. Amy’s more recent work is with corporate clients and includes the earliest stages of master planning and campus design. An active promoter of the architecture and real estate industry, Amy serves on the Board of Directors for Professional Women in Construction in New York. She also contributes directly to staff engagement and diversity initiatives including mentorship, training, and development programs in HOK’s New York studio. Amy regularly participates in AIA events, as well as events and initiatives of the New York City Council of Industry Women.Amy is a registered architect and LEED accredited professional and received her Master of Architecture and Certificate of American Urbanism from the University of Virginia. She graduated with honors from UVA and was awarded a coveted post-graduate fellowship grant to continue her studies in Rome.
