In a field of mesclun greens someone said, “editorial freelancer,” and a yurt-dwelling farmhand had found her calling. I quickly leveraged her (then-average) library skills and (above average) Latin training to learn the trade, squelched any qualms about cold-calls, and began to hustle like a farmer in September.
