As Director of Development I served as an innovative and strategic partner on the leadership team, working to ensure Artspace advances its vision to be a hub of visual art exhibitions, working studios, and education for communities across our region. Working in partnership with the CEO, I was responsible for all resource development activities to support operations, educational programming, and capital improvements. Successfully forging new community connections, I expanded funding streams and secured new entrepreneurial gifts for education and exhibition programming and for strategic operations. In leading intentional segmented communications, cultivation, and stewardship, I focused on helping uplift and amplify the Artspace vision of the visual arts playing a positive role in the lives of children and adults across communities.

As Director of Development, I built a development department and mentored three full-time staff to support a variety of funding strategies. Through collaboration and open communication, I led the team to annually exceed our goals. I partnered with the CEO and Board Campaign Cabinet to establish a fund development strategic plan incorporating a multi-channel annual fund campaign, private and government grants, and a bold capital campaign. Some things I'm proud of that we accomplished over 3+ years:- Increased unique donors from 200 to 1,500- Launched new annual giving program in 2018; generated over $245,000 in 2020 - Secured over $18 million in capital campaign gifts and pledges - Grew community stakeholders and donor prospects from 800 to 8,500+ individuals-families, businesses, and foundations- Collaborated on over 100 cultivation events to build awareness, affinity, and engagementI wholeheartedly believe in the transformative power of mentoring and courageous leadership, especially when I look back at last year. Strong personal relationships with colleagues enabled us to craft and implement new processes and norms for working from home during the pandemic and our team adapted to maintain progress on goals for stewarding and soliciting prospects and donors.

While managing a portfolio of over 75 prospects, I developed strategies and processes to identify, cultivate, solicit and track individual and foundation donors and I supervised grant solicitation process and staff grant writer. Having staffed the recruitment and hiring process for Development Department professional positions of Manager of Corporate Giving, Manager of Marketing and Public Relations, Database Manager, we collaborated on successful direct mail and mini-campaign approaches, as well as donor recognition processes.

With a personal portfolio of 100 major gift prospects, I communicated with, visited, and solicited prospects and donors with personalized case statements, solicitation letters, and cultivation materials. Working with Board committee volunteers, I organized and led two fundraising events achieving funding goals for both.

Directed all operations and development for nonprofit visual arts school and gallery with 4 staff, 15 board members, 30+ art faculty and 100+ volunteers. Secured over $2.4 million in funding by transforming fund development strategies and planning through conducting donor cultivation and fund development including: individual, foundation and corporate proposals, special events, capital campaigns, private and government grant proposals, direct mail drives; developed and managed annual operating budget of $300,000; created and carried out marketing, annual and long-term strategic plans; oversaw the capital campaign for the care and preservation of 2 National Historic Register homes.
