Hello! I’m Amy, and I work as an illustrator from my home studio in Yorkshire, England. I’m currently represented by Advocate Art for art licensing and illustration. If you are interested in working with me please get in touch! hello@amyhodkin.com​​​​​​Originally from the Midlands, I fell in love with the North after completing my B.A. in Printed Textiles and Surface Pattern Design at Leeds Arts University. In 2021 I earned my Masters in Illustration from Falmouth University. Using a mixture of gouache, ink, pencil, crayon, and digital tools I combine vibrant colours and textural marks to create playful narratives and whimsical illustrations inspired by all things weird and wonderful. Outside of making and creating I love to watch horror movies, visit antique shops, collect picture books, and play video games.

  I have worked as a freelance illustrator since 2022. I specialise in creating colourful ready-to-license artwork and fulfilling commissioned illustration briefs from clients. I love working on playful design for products with a particular interest in creating for greeting cards, jigsaws and books. My style mainly focuses on illustrating quirky characters and whimsical scenes for children and female audiences. I have worked with Hallmark, American Greetings and WHSmith most recently where I designed a Christmas puzzle to be published in 2024.
