The SCPW was registered on 27 April 1998 as a non-stock, non-profit corporation under the Philippine national law. The principal objective of SCPW is to promote the wise use of wetlands in the Philippines by(1) facilitating linkages and networking among wetland advocates locally and abroad; (2) engaging in wetland conservation activities; (3) providing a forum and technical assistance on wetland-related issues; and (4) complementing wetland management activities through research, training and CEPA (communication, education, participation and awareness).
