Build and oversee organizational budget, determining priorities and development goals for the annual 1 million to 3 million budget, depending on cycle.

Oversaw Governor Maggie Hassan’s policy department to achieve the Governor’s strategic policy and legislative agenda. Provided analysis, guidance, and strategic direction on current and potential policy decisions to the Governor, including a strong focus on state fiscal impact and issues facing constituents. Policy portfolio includes all healthcare, labor, insurance, banking, and housing. Drafted language and collaborated with advocates and legislators to pass the largest pieces of juvenile justice reform in decades (2013’s House Bill 260 and 2014’s HB1624). Managed external relations for the Governor relating to 2014’s landmark bipartisan healthcare expansion bill, which now provides health care coverage to over 200,000 Granite Staters.

Developed and executed comprehensive campaign political plan to achieve maximum support from key organizations, constituency groups, and state leaders. Worked in conjunction with the communications department to disseminate the campaign’s message through external organizations and key constituency leaders. Managed and executed crucial events for the campaign, including the campaign ad shoot, press conferences, GOTV events, local and national surrogate events, and the Governor’s Election Day schedule.

Managed and leveraged relationships between elected officials, party leaders and sector leaders to augment the work being done by the field program of the grassroots arm of President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign. Engaged and utilized critical stakeholders, including national and regional surrogates, Members of Congress, former and current Governors, and national activists, for local press and grassroots events. Built leadership and constituency networks, including county and regional steering committees and allied affinity groups (Veterans for Obama, Obama Pride, etc). And had a hell of a good time doing it.
