Daily responsibilities include team management, being flexible to handle with unforeseen situations and having great organizational skills for undertaking day to day admin alongside my design engineering work.

Creating 3D visuals from illustrations through block modelling and Keyshot rendering for client presentations.

Tiny Bear is a baby accessory company, specialising in textiles, tableware and print. Influenced by Scandinavian trends, the brand is all about minimalist print and simple yet functional product. The first collection 'Woodland' is completely designed, made and packaged in the UK. I implemented the complete design process including product pipe-lining, concept design, prototyping, detailed design and RFQ packs including pattern and manufacturing method generation. Undertaking sourcing and supply chain management alongside packaging and website design allowed us to keep the brand on message, providing a transparent vendor network and meeting our key criteria of being a truly British brand from concept to shelf.

I managed a design team of 5 members alongside my role as a product designer. As such I made sure that each member was on schedule, knew what they were doing and offered discussion and advice to solve problems. This required focus and organisation to manage my time around my own design work as well as knowledge of the materials and manufacturing processes relevant to each of the projects running within the team.As a team leader I also covered holiday and sickness when required and aided management in organising recruitment and taking part in the interview process.

I was given responsibility for the day to day running of both the design studio and workshop including management of the 3D printers in order to streamline all design related areas of the workplace. I planned and managed a complete refurbishment of the prototyping and workshop space bringing them in line with health and safety regulations.

I worked with clients to advice, design and fulfill strategically driven goals, working towards a commercially relevant and viable solution. Each project introduced new challenges and I was expected to quickly familiarise myself with different markets, processes and opportunities to meet client requirements regardless of the stage I was introduced to the project and all to meet a fast paced deadline. Occasionally prototypes were required to support project progression which demanded workshop skills and preparation of CAD data to be sent to off site prototyping facilities.

Since my placement at Designspark, I continued to work for them as a freelancer, producing 3D CAD models and photorealistic renders for their various clients.

Lighting & Sound engineer. I worked as part of a small technical team for the club to setup music and comedy events during the day ready for the evening when I would run the lighting desk and sound equipment during the event, solving any technical issues that would arise during the evening. Once a year I would also help set up the summer ball and manage a stage for the night of the event which included looking after the artists, making sure they got on stage at the right time and dealing with any problems that arose during the night.

During my time at Bang, I undertook various parts of projects which greatly improved my skills in Photoshop and Solidworks. I undertook a variety of jobs including: Concept sketching, cardboard modelling, photography and photo-editing, 3D CAD modelling and photo-realistic rendering. I also had the chance to go with the company and exhibit one of their products at 2 separate design shows, which gave me an insight into both stand design & construction as well as exhibition psychology.

Designspark was my first placement where my time was spent primarily on one project where I helped with board layout, photo editting and drawing up technical drawings.
