Dr. Amy Moy is the Senior Director of Community Health Initiatives and Optometric Compliance of the New England College of Optometry (NECO), where her mission is to make eye care accessible to all in the health center setting. She manages NECO optometric faculty staffing the health center sites, and fosters strong partnerships with community health centers in an interprofessional model. As the Chief Compliance Officer of the New England College of Optometry (NECO)'s Clinical Network, Dr. Moy is responsible for leading initiatives to foster excellence, compliance and safety in patient care. Dr Moy also practices at the Martha Eliot Health Center, where she serves as an attending optometrist and precepts optometry students of all levels.Dr. Moy, an Associate Professor of Clinical Optometry at NECO, is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a Fellow of the National Academies of Practice. She earned her O.D. degree from the New England College of Optometry in 2003 and completed a residency at the Bedford Veterans Administration Medical Center in Bedford, MA in Primary Eye Care and Geriatric Optometry with an emphasis on Ocular Disease. She was the principal investigator for the Boston Latino Eye Study, and has presented nationally on issues of interprofessional care, ocular disease, optometric education, disabilities and eye care, and infection control for optometrists. Dr. Moy is passionate about interprofessional healthcare and addressing health disparities, because eye care is a right and not a privilege. In her free time, she works on spreading the celebration of Down syndrome with her family through blogs, videos, and advocacy. She is the author of “The Polka-Dotted Penguin,” a children’s book about kindness and celebrating differences.
