Ics India VolunteerRaleigh International Sep 2013 - Dec 2013Mysuru Area, IndiaIn the last quarter of 2013 I volunteered for 10 weeks on a sustainable development programme in India. This was part of International Citizen Service (ICS), which brings young people from around the World together to fight poverty and make a difference where it is needed most. I worked alongside volunteers from India, on a project which aimed to improve the health and sanitation facilities available to a community in rural India. ICS works with communities that have specifically requested their help. It also aims to inspire young people in the UK and overseas to become Active Global Citizens who are passionate about long term community development.I fundraised £800 for Raleigh International who are one of the respected development agencies that deliver ICS. This will allow them to continue to bring about positive change in the developing communities where they work.
