• Responsible for reporting and writing feature articles—often covers—on legal topics of national significance. • In charge of managing major projects from inception to completion, including developing the story lineups, assigning staff and freelance writers, editing the pieces and ensuring the editorial quality of the final package. These projects include: • The American Lawyer 25th Anniversary Issue, May 2004. Developed the concept and themes of this issue that looked at the evolution of many aspects of legal practice and legal business. Compiled a list of candidates to receive the magazine’s first Lifetime Achievement Awards.• “Lawyers of the Century,” special issue, December 1999. Did extensive research to single out some thirty innovators behind the century’s most important legal developments. Identified experts to write the biographical essays. Edited the pieces. • “The Story of the Century: 100 Years of Women in Law,” special issue, March 1999. Created a package of stories, surveys and an in-depth timeline that tracked the progress of women in practice over a century.

In charge of this American Lawyer supplement on legal business in Europe. • Conceived the editorial direction from the magazine’s initial launch.

• Developed the Court TV Web site, which included: o daily reports on Court TV cases and other legal issues. o how-to consumer information about the law o a vast library of legal documents ranging from U.S. Supreme Court opinions to the wills of famous people. • Oversaw daily operation of all Court TV online areas, including coverage of the O.J. Simpson trial. • Supervised full-time staff and freelancers. • Set editorial standards.

Created The Court TV Cradle-to-Grave Legal Survival Guide (Little, Brown and Company), a comprehensive consumer reference book. • Hired and supervised a 50-person team of writers, fact checkers and interns. • Edited the 1,500-page manuscript.

• Reported and wrote on legal issues of national significance, including developments in criminal and civil cases, legal personalities and law firm management. • Wrote one of the lead feature articles, “Uzi Disarmed,” in the special issue, “Can America Enforce Its Drug Laws?” that won the 1991 National Magazine Award for Best Single-Topic Issue.
