I am a strategically focused audit professional with over 8 years experience in internal audit and 5 years experience in business process/systems improvement. I specialize in building rapport with the client, internal and external, at all levels, and any job function. This allows me to gain more insightful knowledge of the client's processes, needs, and control environment and deliver recommendations (even tough ones) to elicit a favorable response. This ability, combined with my technical skills in data organization/mining and process improvement and my certification in fraud examination, make me an asset to any team. Until recently, I worked for Brinker International, a restaurant company owning the Chili's and Maggiano's brands. While I participated in and/or led audits in all areas (process, IT, compliance, SOX), my primary responsibility was operational field audits in the company-owned Chili's restaurants. I was able to streamline the reporting process by creating a database for the field audits, reducing the time to produce the reports by 75%. This allowed 30% more audits to be completed, all while improving performance at the restaurants. In addition, in the process audit realm, I was known as the go-to person when previous auditors had been unable to gather candid information from a business team. Due to my friendly, unthreatening personality and ability to grasp new concepts quickly, I was able to accomplish the task efficiently, accurately and favorably for both the audit and business teams.Overall, I can be described as a sharp, innovative and strategic thinker that strives to improve the business.
