I graduated with a first class Honours degree in Sustainable Development (Politics and International Relations) from the University of Edinburgh and I am currently pursuing a masters in Environmental Policy (Methods and Global Economy) at Sciences Po Paris.Since the start of my undergraduate degree, I have been learning across disciplines, always with sustainability at the core of all my actions: I am the most comfortable in the context of systems thinking. We willassess the gains and losses created by such a traditional construction using local, natural materials,in practices modelled on archaeological evidence. Our assessment concerns the directlyaccountable losses from cutting turf and trees, and the gains from reseeding, regrowing, andreplanting to increase carbon sequestration and biodiversity. We then also consider the gains frommore intangible values that can expand the project’s social and cultural capital. -
