Whatever issues you work on, you work on something that impacts Reproductive Justice.Help allies with ongoing work, support each others causes in order to accomplish goals. We’ll talk best practices on understanding your communities’ needs, how different policies impact people, and how we can fight back.

The Young Womxn of Color for Reproductive Justice Leadership Council is a group of 14-24 year old young women and non-binary people of color from across the country who work to educate, mobilize, and amplify issues impacting their community and ensure access to their full reproductive rights and sexual health education. We seek to develop the leadership and mobilize young people of color in solidarity with each other to create a society free from all forms of reproductive oppression. The Leadership Council serves as the steering committee for the YWOC4RJ Collective and regularly engages the larger collective through online and offline activism opportunities. We work to train, educate, and mobilize community in support of Reproductive Justice. Organize to end reproductive oppression across communities of color in all its forms through policy work, community organizing and culture shifting digital & media work.• Organized call-to-action activities for youth via social media• Compiled, created, and widespread Reproductive Justice Resource Doc• Created and sent out newsletters via MailChimp• Organized & promoted virtual informational panels• Organized & promoted week of action and social media toolkit, #CareNotCages centered on the intersection of Abolition & Reproductive Justice

• Took lead on local issue-advocacy projects in the region including but not limited to understanding of reproductive justice, LGBTQ+ equity, voting rights, immigration justice reform, and criminal justice reform through educational events across the city and social media content production and publishing • Work to build power among young voters in the city and county by organizing to increase voter participation and civic engagement at the local and state level• Implement Texas Rising's voter registration and engagement program• Create social media content for special events and general meetings, producing content and graphics, and reviewing analytics with emphasis to increase social media followers and organization members• Organized the inaugural El Paso City Women’s March 2018 with emphasis on LGBTQ+ and racial representation and equity• Served on the Youth Advisory Council (YAC) Board, Education Advisory Board, LGBTQ+ Advisory Board for Texas State Senator Jose Rodriguez District 29• Co-founded and Co-organized the #EducationNotDeportation (END) Coalition & Campaign in direct response to the TX SB4 (also known as “Anti sanctuary cities” bill) to demand that the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) safeguard and protect undocumented and immigrant students by claiming itself as a “sanctuary university” • Co-organized and lead walkout(s), protest(s), and meeting with Dr. Natalicio, UTEP president to demand a sanctuary campus, and in response to threats of DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) program ending• Wrote, organized, and spoke during press releases and conferences in response to city and statewide legislation as well as against unlawful detainment of local community organizers

Competitive two-week fellowship held at the University of Rochester in collaboration with the Center for Educational Justice at the University of Redlands, the Women's Center at Bowling Green State University, and the Susan B. Anthony Center at the University of Rochester.Using a feminist praxis approach to instruction, fellows participated in self-exploration for social change. With workshops, historic site visits, and service projects focused on developing a greater awareness and deeper understanding of self, others, social issues, and the efficacy to make change.Grounded in the feminist history of the greater Rochester area and hands-on experience working at Willow Domestic Violence Center, this program provides undergraduates interested in social justice, human services, non-profit management, gender-based violence, and feminism(s) with an opportunity to participate in leadership development, research and program evaluation, and experiential learning for social change.
