I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Program in Chemical Biology at the University of Michigan, working in Dr. Anna Mapp’s lab. My research focuses on screening biocatalytically generated libraries of natural product-inspired compounds against high-value targets, specifically dynamic proteins involved in transcription regulation. Through this work, I aim to advance our understanding of molecular interactions relevant to gene expression and contribute to drug discovery efforts.After earning my B.S. from Saint Mary’s College in 2021, I served as a general chemistry laboratory instructor. This role deepened my passion for teaching, mentorship, and student engagement, as I guided undergraduates through hands-on learning and fostered their interest in STEM.Earning my Ph.D. is not only a step toward advancing my research goals but also an opportunity to help create a more inclusive STEM community. I am committed to supporting students from underrepresented backgrounds and working toward greater equity and diversity in both academia and the sciences.
