As the Associate Director for Cleantech to Market (C2M) at UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business, I lead a program that connects graduate students, startups, and industry experts to accelerate the commercialization of leading climate tech solutions. C2M is dedicated to cultivating the next generation of cleantech leaders while driving impactful advancements for a sustainable future.Since its founding in 2008, more than 500 C2M students have helped to commercialize nearly 130 climate tech solutions, whose associated startups have gone on to raise almost $1 billion in follow-on funding.

As Chief Innovation Officer at the Open Innovation Squad under the Garwood Center for Corporate Innovation at UC Berkeley, I played a pivotal role in advising the center on corporate innovation strategies and guiding UC Berkeley students involved in open innovation consulting projects. My responsibilities included providing strategic insights to enhance corporate innovation initiatives and mentoring students to enrich their professional consulting experience, bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world application.

Managed a team to lead C-suite executives at corporations through the identification of new business growth opportunities by exploring technology and innovation trends. Responsibilities included establishing analytical frameworks to solve problems, managing project resource and asset allocation, and nurturing client relationships. Notable clients: Volkswagen, Pepsico, Mizuho, and AGC.Led the implementation of Harvest, a time tracking and forecasting technology platform, to standardize project management across the organization, increase resource efficiency, and provide insights to drive product pricing.

Collaborated with a team to conduct complex market research and analyze data to provide meaningful insights and recommendations to corporate clients from a wide range of industries and geographic locations. Notable clients include: JetBlue, Ferguson, Repsol, DeBeers, Avis Budget Group, Mizuho, and IAG.Scouted startups that have developed innovative solutions for our clients to partner with, invest in, or acquire. Responsibilities included startup due diligence, relationship management, and pilot or proof-of-concept execution.

Managed TERRA, a program designed to pilot new technologies between startups and corporations in the food and agriculture industries. Responsibilities included promoting the program, managing the application process, conducting program events, growing ecosystem partnerships and facilitating the startup and corporate pilots. By providing a clear framework to pilot technologies, I enabled impactful outcomes for our corporate partners.Notable outcomes: Nestle’s partnership with startup Kakaxi to install their video agricultural devices to monitor crops and share the seed-to-harvest story with consumers, Griffith Foods $2.5M investment in startup ReGrained whose technology transforms food waste into tasty superfoods, and Beta San Miguel (largest sugarcane producer in Mexico) joint venture with startup Biome Makers to create the first sugarcane micro-biome platform.

Collaborated with a cross-departmental team to develop FoodBytes! a startup pitch competition designed to position the bank as an innovative leader.As a founding member of Rabobank's first innovation team, I supported the Head of Innovation to scale FoodBytes! from 1 to 10 events in 6 different cities, including 2 international. Responsibilities included administering the application process, managing event logistics, and handling marketing and social media. With 15 global pitch competitions, 260+ startup pitches and 4700+ attendees, Foodbytes has become the top pitch competition in the food and agriculture industries.Assisted the launch of TERRA, a program designed to pilot new technologies between startups and corporations, by developing a business plan, assisting negotiations for a partnership with RocketSpace, and facilitating the acquisition of the first corporate partners to join the program. Since its inception, TERRA has facilitated 58 pilots between 11 corporates (worth over $100B in annual revenue) and 61 startups across four cohorts. (In April of 2020, TERRA became part of the FoodBytes platform and is now referred to as "FoodBytes! Pilot").
