I believe my commitment and willingness to always perform to my best, made flexibility and initiative some of my strongest abilities. This supports me to hit the ground running when it comes to deal with different situations and ways of thinking, which turns out to be a plus on working either in group or individually. I have been working as a research fellow since 2009, and have been involved in several research projects covering the fields of Drug Delivery, Supramolecular Chemistry, Synthesis of Functional Compounds, Indoor Air Quality besides routine analytical techniques as HPLC and GC-MS. Such experience in laboratories dedicated to general chemistry, mechanical engineering and environmental engineering, exposed me to different and outstanding research environments, in which I improved my ability to continuously fill the gaps that may exist in my present knowledge and skills. All my efforts were recognized and I have been funded by FCT to pursue a PhD at FEUP. My main focus was the assessment of Waste-to-Energy techniques through LCA, LCC and S-LCA, important international partnerships being developed, enabling me to do part of my research abroad. These contributed to my recent graduation as PhD in Environmental Engineering, being unanimously approved Cum Laude by an international jury in viva voce.Upon 2 years of mandate in SETAC Europe's Students Advisory Council and being part of the organizing committee for two international conferences, I was also a member of the scientific committee for the SETAC Europe 32nd Annual Meeting, held in Copenhagen in May 2022. With more than 40 papers published, I actively review for several high-impact scientific and technical journals in the fields of environment, engineering, waste management and waste-to-energy, being also the guest-editor for dedicated special issues.Currently, I work as a researcher in Energy Sustainability @INEGI.
