About Anabel Adler

Anabel is a passionate urban designer with over 15 years experience in the private sector and State and Local government. Starting her career in a multi-disciplinary urban design consultancy allowed a broad exposure to design led thinking in strategic planning and development projects. Working at the coal face of built environment change and design policy underpinned by the importance of an effective contextual response has shaped a range of urban and regional projects and the formulation of effective urban design policy at various scales. Anabel was part of the team that received the 2009 PIA Planning Excellence Victorian Award and Commendation in the Urban Planning Achievement Category for the Dandenong Neighbourhood Character Study.Anabel is also a strong advocate of the value of the design review process and its importance in generating high quality development outcomes. Serving as a urban design panel member at Melbourne University and provided design advice on 150+ projects across a range of building typologies and precincts. Promoting best practice processes and principles that enable dynamic and engaging places motivates her as an urban designer.
