Ana Chavez Email and Phone Number
Raised in Mexico, I developed a strong interest in health care and social welfare from an early age. Observing the health disparities and challenges faced by underserved populations in my community, I knew I wanted to pursue a career dedicated to improving public health outcomes. This led me to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, where I gained a deep understanding of the social determinants of health, health promotion, and disease prevention.I joined a local non-profit organization as a program coordinator. This role allowed me to work closely with marginalized communities, implementing health promotion initiatives, and creating awareness about pressing health issues. Witnessing the positive transformations that our interventions brought about further affirmed my passion for public health. To expand my knowledge and enhance my skills, I pursued a Master's degree in Public Health with a specialization in Health Promotion from UTHealth School of Public Health. This academic journey provided me with advanced knowledge in research methodologies, program planning and evaluation, as well as leadership skills to effectively navigate the complex field of public health.Looking ahead, my ultimate goal is to become a recognized leader in the field of public health, transforming policies and systems to prioritize health equity. I aim to continue bridging the gap between research and practice, and to inspire others to join the noble cause of public health.
