Working at the Ministry of Finance's Communication Unit let me to developed exceptional management and communication skills, I prepared and presented economic and financial information in an appropriate style to the audience.High-level planning and organising skills by adjusting priorities and identifying more critical and less critical activities and assignments to ensure that official communication was completed and released efficiently. Designed and prepared communication materials for the Finance Minister (articles, talking points, Q&A), as well as political briefs for decision-making, daily activities, special events, and official working trips.

Among my duties, I managed online activities related to UNAM, Mexico, and the UK during the first stage of the COVID-19 pandemic. I was also in charge of researching and contacting Mexican counterparts as well as perform office tasks, organised and coordinated events, created publicity, managed the mailing list, and social media.

My main role was to perform quantitative and financial analysis in order to identify potential clients from the Mining Sector in Mexico. Focus on small and medium enterprises. Additionally, I worked with a team of five people to carry out models risk, estimate credit rating and rate interest for credits.

This position let me work closely with one of the Senior Advisers of the Minister. Our team was mainly composed of economists. Among my duties, I used to process data from the Census of Mexico, the principal National Household Surveys, as well as macroeconomic and financial data. Using that information, I provided notes and reports for the Minister's presentations, and as part of the policy-making process. Working at the Minister's office implied constant communication with actors from the public and private sectors as well. I closely collaborated with representatives of the Presidency's Office and other Ministries to align activities related to the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.

I worked closely with a multidisciplinary team composed of IT engineers, accountants, and economists to develop a system to identify fraud people and enterprises. I used to computed models to analyse patterns of people and enterprises in order to identify them more effectively. To achieve this goal, I used to manage data with millions of observations, verify the accuracy, coherence, quality, and internal consistency.

During six years I was focus on doing research about poverty, the gender gap in the labour market, and environmental issues. I developed skills in using statistical software such as STATA, as well as ArcGis. I used to process large data of National Surveys of Mexico to compute econometric regressions in order to find causal relationships.From my position, I had the opportunity to collaborate in different academic and social projects, which involved senior researchers from different Universities, not only from Mexico but also from countries such as The United States, Spain, Peru, Guatemala, and so on. In the last two years of my position, I was in charge of five undergraduate students to train them in managing large data and using statistical software. As a result of my job, I published as co-author two papers of the gender labour gap in Mexico. One of them was published in CEPAL Review and the other was published in Accounting and Management Review. Both papers aim to study the determinants of women’s hours worker in Mexico Also, I contributed to four chapters of different books in topics related to poverty, crime, security, and climate change.

I was part of the team who organised a workshop that put together actors from the academic, public and private sector as well as people from communities to discuss environmental issues in one of the poorest states of Mexico, Oaxaca and define further actions.Once the project started, I was in charge of being the direct contact between the UNAM and people from the communities of Oaxaca. As part of this, I used to organise workshops and meetings between the actors as part of the activities of the project. Therefore, most of the time I traveled to Oaxaca to attend those events to prepare reports, notes and presentations.

I worked together with experts in Energy and Oil in order to develop the Integrated Energy Model of Mexico (SIMISE in Spanish). My contributions was for the Economic component, where I helped to collect, process and analyse time series of macro economic and energy data.Also, I planned and deliver meeting between the client and the consultant group.

This impact assessment aimed to evaluate the effects of an employment programme on the wellbeing of the participants. This gave me the opportunity to work closely with colleagues from the Inter-American Development Bank, the Ministry of Labour of Mexico and Senior Researchers. My main job consisted on examining, analysing and interpreting survey responses data, as well as ensuring the robustness and transparency.Also, I supervised four undergraduate students who computed estimations in STATA and e-Views. Additionally, I was in charge of preparing the final report for the client and ensure timeliness in presenting the results.
