Experienced scientist with a demonstrated history of working in biomedical research. I obtained my bachelor's and doctorate in Biology at the University of the Basque Country with a project on molecular diagnosis of infectious diseases, for which I obtained the extraordinary doctorate prize. Later, I joined the CIC bioGUNE where I have worked in several lines of research, especially in the search for new therapeutic strategies for the treatment of rare diseases. I am co-author of many international publications and two patents, including the first ODD (designation of orphan medicines) approved by the European Medicines Agency that has been obtained in the Basque Country (https://www.cicbiogune.es/news/atlas-molecular-pharma-receives-approval-us-food-drug-administration-orphan-drug-treatment).Since 2016, I also work for the European Commission as Expert Evaluator in Horizon 2020 Marie Sklodowska Curie (MSCA) programme. In addition, I collaborate as a scientific consultant with the company CreativiTIC Innova in its research lines of augmented reality and virtual reality technologies applied to education and health, both in own projects and in the European research framework H2020. I am currently working on the application of NMR metabolomics in different fields of biomedicine.
