-Developed a series of R scripts that automates the production of 350 manufacturing industry reports, from data import, tidying and transformation, generating visualizations, and finally creating the final report in PowerPoint. Additionally created a bash script to save the PowerPoint files as PDFs as well as the first slide as a JPEG for posting on ecommerce platform.-Built a training module, “Price and Cost Analysis: First Principles to Expertise” that takes users through all of the steps to build a cost model for any good or service for use in procurement negotiations, budgeting, finance discussions, and more. The course begins with an explanation of the accounting concepts, moves on to data sources to determine how much things cost, discusses the techniques for manipulating that data into a cost model, and closes with a discussion of data types and helpful math concepts.

Helped to develop the group strategy and led the coordination of marketing, sales, training, developer, and recruitment resources. Led a restructure of the product offerings, reducing our offerings by 2/3 without a negative impact on revenue, simplifying the sales process, and freeing up resources to improve and expand our core offerings.-Managed the transition to new online platform, including communications to clients, identifying additional development requirements before transition, identifying bugs, and ensuring a successful transition.-Launched and managed a training module on cost modeling for clients. Extremely positive feedback on initial run and expanded to 4 cities in 2018, generating additional revenue and improving customer engagement.-Provided sales support for European sales team, including quarterly trips to visit clients and prospects, developing sales materials to target clients there, and assisting on demos via phone and video conferencing.-Performed due diligence on a prospective list of acquisition targets to promote group’s expansion goals; presented results to Vice President of division resulting in beginning acquisition discussions with one of the targets.-Developed the Alloy Cost Calculator, a Microsoft Excel-based tool that generates custom cost forecasts for over 100 metal alloys – information that is otherwise not publicly available.

-Economist in the ferrous metals division for seven years and transportation services for three years, called on to develop a thesis for a material price forecast, build a supporting econometric model, generate quarterly written reports, and defend thesis to clients and in presentations. Wrote four quarterly reports on key segments of the metals industry; then four quarterly reports in the transportation services industry. Developed and wrote a weekly report author of the Weekly Pricing Pulse publication, a commodity price newsletter with 5,000 hits/year; later made available to non-clients via a weekly email, reaching 1,500 subscribers in six months.-Led research on an assessment of global steel rail producers for a Class I railroad in the US. The company developed their purchasing strategy, assessed risks surrounding the financial position of key suppliers, and gained insight into new suppliers entering the market. Resulted in revenue of $50,000 with updates of $7,500 and $15,000.-Led research on a study of global hydro turbine suppliers for a North American hydroelectric-focused utility.
