About Anastasios Margonis

Planetary scientist studying the meteoroid population in the Earth-Moon system through meteor observations using optical camera systems.In the last 10 years Anastasios' work focused on the data reduction and the scientific analysis of meteor image data acquired by light-sensitive camera systems. He developed data processing pipelines for data reduction implementing geodetic and computer vision methods. He has been participating, organizing and leading field campaigns dedicated to the observation of meteors in the Earth's atmosphere. Furthermore, he conducted telescopic ground-based observations for monitoring the night hemisphere of the Moon for impact flashes.
