Dr. Anna Bartel is a Senior Research Associate in Efficacy and Impact Studies in the Learning and Technology content area at WestEd. Her expertise is on how people reason with different representational formats when solving math and statistics problems. She currently serves as co-PI on three IES-funded grants, each involving the development or testing of large-scale math interventions for young students. She is published in the areas of cognitive science, educational psychology, and statistics education. Dr. Bartel has received rigorous training on causal inference as a fellow in the Interdisciplinary Training Program funded by the U.S. Department of Education’s Institute of Education Sciences. She is also a certified reviewer in the What Works Clearinghouse group design standards v5.0. She received her PhD in Psychology with a minor in Quantitative Methods in Education Sciences from University of Wisconsin-Madison.
