Roots of Success prepares youth and adults from frontline communities for environmental careers and to become activists and leaders who can improve environmental and social conditions in their communities and in society more broadly. Our diverse and talented Board members are dedicated to expanding the reach of our programs across the country as we launch our new Apprenticeship and Pre-Apprenticeship Programs. The RoS Apprenticeship is the first and only federally recognized Department of Labor “Career Technical Educator – Environmental Literacy Instructor Apprenticeship. San Francisco, Ca

- Co-authored the executive-level report: "Advancing Health Equity in San Francisco: Assessing UCSF Anchor Institution Capacity" to advocate for increased local and inclusive workforce development, purchasing, and place-based investments within the University of California, San Francisco.- Responsible for managing the project timeline, conducting and organizing research, identifying and interviewing stakeholders, writing the report, and supporting report design and editing.- Identified local and national best practices and policies for large universities and health systems to develop an effective workforce development pipeline.- Conducted over 40 interviews with community and internal stakeholders.

- Provided technical assistance to over a dozen farmers' markets across the state in establishing, implementing, and promoting CalFresh EBT access. - Supported the statewide CalFresh Market Match program with grant tracking, data management, and outreach.- Assisted in tracking progress of the $3.7 million USDA Food Insecurity Nutrition Incentive (FINI) grant.- Assisted in preparing contracts for 50 community-based organizations and farmers' market operators across the state.- Performed back-end website maintenance of the Ecology Center Farmers' Market EBT, Farmers' Market Finder, and the Market Match programs.

- Assisted SPUR's Food and Agriculture Policy Director with research on land use policies and soda tax measures.- Provided editorial input into the monthly print and online publications.- Performed membership/donor-database maintenance tasks.- Assisted membership team in setting up over a dozen public programming events.

- Managed four on-campus campaigns involving vendor sustainability, zero waste, a community garden, and a Student Sustainability Coalition.- Managed budgeting, grant writing and spending, as well as a team of seven interns.- Implemented over a dozen on-campus environmental education events (e.g outdoor fairs, panel discussions, workshops, film screenings) with highest attendance at roughly 1,000 people.- Collected project and program assessment data, and compiled monthly and annual reports.

San Francisco Bay Area

- Planned and facilitated four environmental education programs, one of which was bi-lingual (Vietnamese).- Performed outreach to underrepresented youth and senior communities in Marin County.- Received inclusiveness and relevancy training by the National Park Service Interpretive Division.- Led tours and interpretative programs of Muir Woods National Monument.
