Villum Fonden is a Danish philanthropic foundation supporting technical and scientific research as well as environmental, social and cultural projects in Denmark and internationally. My main responsibility at the foundation is Villum Experiment – a programme supporting unorthodox ideas in their early stage – and Villum Investigator for experienced and internationally recognised researchers.Throughout my career I have worked at the intersection of science, administration and communication. With my background as a Ph.D. in physics, an active research career, and many years of experience as an administrator and science writer/editor I understand both the researchers and their surroundings.I take an active interest in research integrity and served as a member of the Danish Committee on Research Misconduct 2017-2023. As a researcher I mainly worked within the field of magnetic refrigeration. I am the co-author of more than 60 peer-reviewed papers and 8 patents/patent applications. The writing of scientific papers is also an act of communication, although this can sometimes be hard to believe.I have co-written several books in Danish for a general audience, including 'Alt er relativt – eller er det nu også det' (with Jørn Madsen; Gads Forlag, 2008, 2nd ed. 2017), 'Plagiering og anden videnskabelig uredelighed' (with David Favrholdt and Ellen Margrethe Basse; Husets Forlag, 2008), and 'Gyldendals Minilex – Fysik' (with Henrik Smith; Gyldendal, 2004). In addition, I have written numerous popular science articles on sustainable energy technologies. As a freelancer I have worked with writing, copy-editing, and indexing of both science and general interest material.Finally, I have a longstanding interest in the philosophy of science and the history of ideas. I am the Danish translator of the British philosopher Isaiah Berlin.
