In my position with the Weber-Morgan Health Department I was responsible for developing and maintaining emergency and continuity plans. Developed the Strategic National Stockpile, Department Emergency Operations Center, COOP, and Emergency Operations Plans etc. as part of our All Hazards Plan and associated annexes. I also get the opportunity to be a member of the Epi Strike Team, Northern Utah Health Coalition, and was recently voted as a training committee member for the Local Emergency Planning Committee. Along with all this I was also responsible for the departments communications systems and updated radios and satellite phones as well as the Department Emergency Operations Center equipment. Finally, I was the Medical Reserve Corps Coordinator both locally and on the State level. This gave me the opportunity to work with some great volunteers in helping our community through preparedness and training as well as offering medical aid services for community events.

Greater Salt Lake City Area

With the American Red Cross I had the opportunity to organize, instruct, and test for a variety of courses including EMT Basic and Advanced, CPR, First Aid, and AED courses. These courses were held at customer locations, such as businesses, as well as at the Red Cross community classrooms. This position allowed me to help spread the information as well as discuss the importance of such training with students.

My position as a security guard/EMT is multi-faceted. I did everything from transfer phone calls to act as incident commander. I was a member of the safety committee and the Emergency Response Team Coordinator. I was tasked with training and instructing Emergency Response Team members on a variety of topics from medical issues and injuries, including CPR and EMT certification classes to HazMat and Fire situations. We had regular drills and exercises to ensure we could respond to anything we may face and ensure that our facility is safe for our employees. I also had the opportunity to work with safety and planning departments in developing, adjusting, and maintaining policies and procedures with regards to security, safety, business continuity, emergency response, and disaster management.Due to my involvement with the local emergency response community, I was appointed as facility liaison to handle coordination and pre-planning with local agencies on Autoliv's behalf to ensure the we have proper communication channels and response procedures in place in the event of an incident. As liaison, I worked hard to ensure that we had good relationships and regularly included local entities in all types of events from our open house events to tours and of course drills and exercises.
