I am a software developer focused on web applications and enjoy a healthy lifestyle. My interests are, mostly, high performance, distributed computing, design patterns, high availability, content delivery, networking and cloud computing.These are some of my thoughts:· I try to write clean, concise, self-documenting code that both me and my team can still understand a year after. I care about naming. I do not repeat myself. I do not believe that more code represents the solution to a problem. I test everything.· I already master a programming language, but I easily find my way around a new one.· I appreciate high level languages that avoid heaps of boilerplate code, but at the same time I need to know what goes on under the hood.· I think in patterns. Synchronous/asynchronous. Multithreaded/event driven. Latency/bandwidth. I take these into consideration before laying down any code.· I try to be familiar with the latest technologies and use them judiciously.· There is no silver bullet.· Nobody knows everything.· I know when to work hard and when to kick back. Development effort is not evenly distributed. Sometimes you might have to put in some unplanned extra hours, sometimes you go on a team night out before the clock hits six.· I am an inquisitive perfectionist.
