As an ambassador, I aim to spread the word about Spear, so that more young people who are in need of direction, delivered in a safe and (not to mention free) space in order to learn and grow new skills know where to turn. Sulger-Buel gallery is an established gallery specialising in Contemporary African art. The internship was a broadening experience where I learned the foundations of running a gallery business. The team was comprised of the owner, the gallery manager and myself. My relationship with my colleagues was strong and it was bittersweet to have completed my internship there as a result of the positive rapport. The internship role included personal assistance, website/database control (Artlogic), social media posting (Instagram), liaison with artists, invoicing and business innovation.
