"The Menu" is a regular special feature on "Native America Calling," a live, one-hour radio show broadcast over 75 stations across the country. "The Menu" focuses on what's new and current in the world of Indigenous food and food sovereignty. Every last Friday of the month.

I'm the creator, host and producer of the Toasted Sister Podcast, radio about Native American food. I talk with Native chefs and foodies about Indigenous food and food issues. I produce 30-minute shows twice a month.

Starting a podcast with no money doesn't mean it shouldn't look cool. I draw all logos and illustrations for my podcast, Toasted Sister. I also make social media post cards and fliers for any Toasted Sister events using ink, markers, acrylic paint, Photoshop and free media apps.

My podcast, Toasted Sister, has gotten me a little bit of attention in the media. As a result, I've been asked to speak about Indigenous food and do Indigenous food demos. I hosted cooking classes at Navajo Technical University and New Mexico State University, spoke at NMSU, Virginia Tech and the University of Kentucky. I catered some food for the International Association of Culinary Professionals conference in Santa Fe, the Senior Games Indian Day and IndigiPopX. I also moderated a couple of talks for Food Tank's "Wisdom of Indigenous Food Ways," Intertribal Agriculture Council's "Food Summit," the Museum of Food and Drink's "Indigenous Roots" and Radio Cherry Bombe's Friendsgiving "Celebrating the Southwest" virtual event. I've also been featured on multiple food podcasts like "2 Sharp Chefs and a Microphone," "Point of Origin," "Woman of Size" and "Radio Cherry Bombe."

I produce shows for a one-hour radio program about Native American issues and topics. Producing includes coming up with show ideas, doing research on topics, searching for guests, interviewing guests and writing script material.

I've taken photos for publications like "New Mexico Journey" magazine and for my own podcast, "Toasted Sister." I helped produce an episode for DAME Magazine's "The 51" podcast and America's Test Kitchen's "Proof" podcast. I worked with PBS and KQED to help produce web content for their "Native America" series. My beat is Indigenous food. I also regularly put together photo and audio packages for Toasted Sister.

I started Black Cedar, a line of black, goth personal care products, with Addie Lucero of Dancing Butterfly Naturals, LLC. She makes the products, I do everything else; marketing, logos, shipping and processing, website development, product idea creation and social media. To date (November 2020), we debuted and sold out of all black, organic, handmade soap bars. My mission is to insert a goth aesthetic into the personal care market. Black Cedar is Native-made and Native-owned.
