I was the Business Manager at Geelong Lutheran College (GLC) located in the Armstrong Creek development area. GLC is a co-educational primary and secondary school offering education for students in Prep to Year 12. Geelong Lutheran College opened its doors for the first time in 2009 to provide a quality education for the people of Geelong and our programs provide opportunities for students to achieve their very best spiritually, academically, emotionally, socially and physically.My role role was also responsible for St John’s Lutheran School which is centrally located to the Geelong CBD and delivers a dynamic, engaging and holistic curriculum catering for the developing needs of learners from Kindergarten to Year Six.

As the Business Manager I was a member of the Building and Facilities, OH&S, ICT Review and Finance Sub Committee and carried the responsibility to develop a viable financial plan for the College as well as the development of financial policy. I was responsible also for the preparation of appropriate reports for the College Board of Management. In my role as Business Manager I was part of the Senior Management team of the College which included the Principal and Deputy Principals.

As Commercial Manager for the Health & Disability Group (HDSG), a collaborative group servicing both TAC & WorkSafe, I was primarily responsible for the following :• Strategic procurements for TAC and WorkSafe’s new and existing Health Services• Developing purchasing models and strategies for the effective management of health service providers with the aim of meeting TAC and WorkSafe’s corporate objectives,• Co-ordination and negotiation of tender, contract and purchasing arrangements on behalf of WorkSafe and TAC that included client and injured worker outcome expectations and delivery• Building stakeholder relationships / partnerships with external parties to leverage off best practice in the industry• Developing agreements that ensured that HDSG’s commercial and risk mitigation requirements were met, including the coordination of legal requirements.

Main responsibilities included the management of the financial operations area. This involved the supervision of 9 direct reports covering traditional operating accounting and payroll functions.Key activities included:• Prepare and administer the TAC’s annual Administrative Budget of approx. $120 - $130 million p.a (completed 4 successful budget and corporate plan cycles within acceptable DTF growth targets)• Prepare annually a 3 year Administrative Budget forecast for business plan purposes• Administer revenue collection of approx. $1.5 Billion p.a,• Preparation of key monthly financial management reports, including forecast updates for circulation to Executive Management• Ensure that the internal control environment is sound and consistent with internal and external policies, standards and procedures• Ensure the integrity of the data within General Ledger and Payroll systems• Manage the VicRoads Service Level Agreement (SLA) as the nominated account executive representing the TAC
