Responsible for:* Development and strategy for the Frontend Engineering of UniPlaces* Making sure the product is aligned with our target user—evolving—needs, conducting user interviews, Information Architecture efforts, Prototyping, etc. — all with a pragmatic and lean approach to user-centered design.* Whatever comes our way.

My responsibilities included:- Lead the frontend development of latest iteration of the most popular site from Portugal: www.sapo.pt (was also part of the team that built previous iteration in 2009). Made use of HTML5, CSS3, unobtrusive and thought-through JavaScript, Responsive Webdesign techniques, Resolution Independence, etc.- Stress-test web platforms before deployment to production- Support projects across the entire workflow from kick-off to launch: brainstorming, wireframing, prototyping, visual design and implementation, IxD, development, pre-launch and all in-between;- Writing documentation to increase adoption of web-standards based development;- prepare & deliver technical training sessions (topics range: html5, css3, rwd, javascript dev, microformats/microdata, etc.)- Assist teams in the User Centered Design process, carrying out User-testing sessions and heuristic usability techniques.

Outsourced to PTC/SAPO, worked on the SAPO Mail for two years.I was involved in several parts of a webapp lifecycle. From writing PHP code to add new modules to an opensource platform (Horde), to writing a client-side full application in JavaScript to be run on top of the webmail platform (Horde/DIMP), including writing Operator— Firefox addon— userscripts to import vCards straight into the user’s address book, contributed to an opensource project (eTicket) and deployed a highly customized mediawiki.
