Volunteers are the driving force behind all of the exchange programs offered by AFS. They are the backbone of the organization: a worldwide network of people who are committed to increasing intercultural understanding and communication. The dedication and support of these volunteers makes it possible for AFS Participants to embark on life-changing journeys of personal growth.

I was responsible for the west region in Hungary especially the city called Sopron. Part of my work was to build up the organization from scratch. When I moved away it became the 4th strongest chapter in Hungary and has received also an award as the best chapter in 2012. I was responsible of placement of 10-15 exchange students at host families, organizing the volunteer structure up to 50 members and being the overall responsible for the action, support and training.
