Police Aide
• Intake informational reports, including those for lost property, found property,civil matters, abandoned vehicles, and public accidents.• Conduct basic research using criminal databases to identify individuals involvedin a call for service.• Respond to traffic collisions, private property accidents, abandoned vehicles,and traffic control issues.• Communicate with dispatch advising call progress during and after service.Conduct vehicle accident investigations, including measuring distances, makingnecessary calculations, drawing diagrams, coordinating accident scenes, andissuing citations.• Provide traffic control assistance as assigned or needed in connection withspecial events or emergency situations.• Conduct residence and business checks, missing person searches, deployingthe radar trainer, decoy car, and set up sign boards to trending hot spots forpublic awareness.• Assigned a precinct vehicle during work hours and responsible for themaintenance of the vehicle.• Safely carry and operate an assigned taser and pepper spray in accordancewith defensive tactics.• Maintain high levels of confidentiality in all areas of responsibility.
