Current Job Responsibilities:As a Field Service Representative in the Lab Automation Industry, I’m responsible for calibrating, performing preventative maintenance, service, maintaining, and installing a variety of laboratory Robotic Arms and selected 3rd party equipment at the customer's site. Provide support to local sales representatives to solve service-related problems. Required to schedule and coordinate service calls with the customers and meet weekly scheduled service requirements. Travel 70% of the time. Cover mainly the West Coast, and also the Northeast part of the country as needed. A second strong priority is focused on customer relations’ activities intended to generate sales of Thermo LAI Customer Support Services and Service Contracts to customers in my territory. I’m also required to perform on-site training relative to system service, maintenance and basic operation of Thermo LAI systems.

Schedule service calls, repair, troubleshoot, install and perform preventive maintenance on various types of laboratory equipment, which includes, Centrifuges, -80 Freezers, Fluormetric and Luminometric Analyzers, and Incubators in the Seattle, WA area. Train and provide excellent customer care to all equipment operators in a laboratory environment. Teach, train, and give direct support to fellow service reps in the Seattle, Alaska, Denver, Utah, and San Francisco area. Also maintain parts inventory, monthly expenses, and meet quarterly budgets and sales objectives. Also perform product shows, and work closely with the local area Sales rep.

Field EngineerAs a Field Engineer, I interacted with nursing personnel and bio-medical technicians throughout the country on operational and technical questions they may have. I troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on the customers’ equipment. I also install hardwire and telemetry monitoring equipment, as well as, design and install telemetry antenna systems in various hospitals throughout the country.Trainer/InstructorAs a Trainer/Instructor, I traveled across the country instructing contracted service groups on theory of operation troubleshooting and preventive maintenance procedures of the monitoring equipment. The classes are structured to provide a 50/50 mixture of “hands on” and lab, as well as, question and answer sessions.Bench TechnicianIn a shop environment, I troubleshoot, repair and calibrate medical equipment, such as telemetry transmitters, ultrasound units, 2-channel/6-channel recorders, portable EKG machines, Pulmonary Function machines, and telemetry monitors. These items were repaired to the component level.Technical Support SpecialistAs a Technical Support Specialist, I communicate with and instruct customers and other technicians over the phone on operational questions and technical concerns in regards to medical equipment. I insure that their problems and concerns are totally solved. I also dispatch service groups to provide technical assistance to the customers. I am on-call 24 hours a day, seven days a week to service the customers after hours and on weekends and holidays.

As a Medical Supply Technician, I stored, packaged, organized, shipped, received, issued medical supplies and equipment. I also transported them to various units throughout the Ft. Lewis Army Base.
