PSYDEH is a small non-profit organisation dedicated to community building and the rights of indigenous women in the Mexican state of Hidalgo. Due to changes in the Mexican legislation, as of 2016, the organisation faced significant financial uncertainties. Preemptively, PSYDEH decided to launch a global crowdfunding campaign. As volunteer I served as campaign coordinator and was responsible for the campaign strategy. Being a small team we produced the campaign on a “shoestring”. Due to budget restrictions we produced the animated campaign video, other material and donor gratification “inhouse”. I found that my technical background was an invaluable asset in turning the campaign into a success story.As a result of our work PSYDEH became an accredited member of GlobalGiving and was among the 20 organisations, out of 245 in the “accelerator program” being accepted as permanent member.
