My role involved managing junior designers, overseeing workflow and ensuring the smooth running of the design studio (team of 8). I partnered with a host of well-known brands on their communication design, embracing the power of a strong visual brand identity. Key clients included Sainsbury’s, Network Rail, Eurostar, Parcelforce, London Underground, Midland Mainline, McDonald's, BIBA, BOC, Scope and Prince’s Trust. Art directing corporate publications and employee magazines from design through to print, the role required strong layout, typographic and practical skills. Involvement in new business pitches, both creating and presenting concept designs, provided a distinct opportunity for creative expression. The varied workload required managing conflicting priorities, strict budgets and tight schedules, whilst maintaining quality design. Achievements:• Created concept design visuals that helped win contracts to produce TNT’s and Parcelforce staff publications, amongst others.• Account manager and designer for Network Rail, one of Beetroot’s key clients, using strong communication and organisational skills to maximise its design potential. • Designed several award-winning publications, including Eurostar Voyage (PR Week Award finalist) and Sainsbury’s Journal (Gold award for best internal newsmagazine – Communicators in Business (CiB) Awards; best retail in-house magazine – Business Food and Drink Journalist Awards; PR Week Award finalist). -
