My passion for education and background in Special Education, counseling, and administrative support through the dean position to support my skills as a leader. During my time at Wheeling student achievement scores increased to a Performance School rating based on the School Performance Framework for the 2017 (53.6%), 2018 (56.8%), and 2019 (52.8%) school years. In my work I implement several systems that have allowed teachers the ability to focus strictly on learning in their classrooms to increase student achievement. In my current leadership position I maintain daily operations in the building to bring safety, structure, and routines for staff and students. I develop and coach classified staff, create new policies, and effectively engage in the evaluation process. I have partnered with the community to bring resources, volunteers and services into our school, created systems through MTSS to reduce discipline referrals and increase attendance. In addition, I supervise and train new office staff in enrollments, student records, and direct supervision of the ESS team. I facilitate collaboration with teachers to impact student achievement through biweekly data meetings, observation/feedback, and evaluation process in alliance with district data driven instruction initiative. I am currently participating in the APS LEAD program focusing on becoming an even better leader within the APS framework. This spring I am attending the Unbounded Standards Institute and the Great Habits Great Readers training. I am always seeking new opportunities to learn and increase my knowledge to better serve staff and students. Working with students from preschool to graduation has afforded me a wide understanding of the instructional and social needs of students in APS . My degree in Counseling gives me the ability to coach staff on teaching the whole child through mindfulness and restorative practices.
