• Tracked and researched 11 of Senator Escamilla's bills including co-sponsored legislation focusing on homelessness, poverty, environmental issues, disparaging license plates, medical cannabis, and contraception for inmates. •Attended daily Social Services Appropriations Committee, Senate Health and Human Services Committee, Senate Judiciary, Law Enforcement, and Criminal Justice Committee, and Senate Revenue and Taxation Committee hearings. • Prepared binders with legislative materials, maintained and updated legislator’s calendar, frequently communicated and coordinated meetings with stakeholders, drafted positions for press releases, and created a 2020 Legislative Update for mass release. • Acted as a liaison between Senator Escamilla and her constituents of District 1 (44% of which is Latinx), responded to hundreds of constituent emails, created daily social media posts, and created a final legislative update reaching 3,000 constituents.
